Communicable Disease Prevention Plan

The Health and Safety of our clients and staff is Back in Motion’s #1 priority.

In response to COVID-19, Back in Motion has made changes to the facilities, operational and administrative processes:

Facilities

  • Daily janitorial services in all locations
  • Regular disinfecting of high-touch surfaces at reception and in gyms
  • Hand sanitizing stations
  • Informative signage throughout the clinic and washrooms
  • Treatment room and equipment sanitization between every appointment

Operations

  • Screening of all clients both prior to arrival and upon arrival at our clinics
  • Use of Medical Grade (ASTM 1 or 2) masks by all staff 
  • Telehealth Services are offered, which may be combined with in-clinic appointments.

Administrative

  • This Communicable Disease Plan is in place and is based on guidance provided by Public Health, WorkSafeBC and each clinician’s professional regulatory body
  • Training provided to all staff on cleaning and safety protocols. Review of policies and procedures is undertaken at regular intervals
  • Education is provided to staff and clients about staying home when sick 
  • Policies in place to support staff to stay home when sick 

Mask Policy

COVID-19 is spread by liquid droplets that come from the mouth and nose when a person coughs, sneezes, talks, laughs, yells or sings. Wearing a mask should be combined with other measures including hand washing and physical distancing since use of a mask is not enough to prevent the spread of COVID-19. 

Medical Masks are required to be worn by all Back in Motion Staff and Contractors.  These are required to be worn at all times with the exception of when eating, drinking or when in an office alone.  

It is highly recommended that clients and visitors to Back in Motion wear a mask while in the clinic.
