About Community Occupational Therapy

The Community Occupational Therapy (COT) program is offered by Occupational Therapists and is designed to help Clients gain, maintain, and improve skills in self-care and productivity that allow them to live, participate and work in their local community.

The Occupational Therapist (OT) may direct services provided in the home and community settings to assist Clients in acquiring, retaining, and improving independence and adaptive skills, and return to a productive life. The OT considers the effects of physical, functional, cognitive, affective, behavioural, environmental and psychosocial elements when assessing Clients and making treatment recommendations.

Services are offered in Surrey and Coquitlam.
