Chronic Covid Syndrome – Rehabilitation Program

A treatment program for individuals experiencing chronic COVID symptoms

About Chronic Covid Syndrome

An Interdisciplinary Rehabilitation Program aimed at reducing the functional impairments experienced by individuals diagnosed with Covid-19.

Why is this needed?

Studies show that nearly one-third of people diagnosed with COVID-19 had lingering symptoms a median of 6 months after infection onset.

(Logue JK, et al “Sequelae in Adults at 6 Months After COVID-19 Infection” JAMA Netw Open 2021; DOI: 0.1001/jamanetworkopen.2021.0830.)

Early research indicates that a customized approach with interdisciplinary interventions is most effective at reducing symptoms and improving functional abilities.

Components of the Program

Assessment:  The standard Interdisciplinary Ax Team includes an Occupational Therapist and Physical Therapist, with a Psychologist available for more complex cases.

Treatment:  Treatment will be tailored to the individual’s needs, but may include active rehabilitation, occupational therapy, and psychological intervention.
